“Fluxus is fundamentally a rejection of the status quo’s parameters of and for art as distinct from life.” That is a quote from our very own Owen Smith writing about Fluxus in three phases, and relates to the object that I am playing here. It was a steel plate simply found on the way to the exhibit. Finding the old piece of steel was very much a part of my life that morning. “I searched for a sound”. It was fun, sudden, joyful, and the mallets often made it silent. Huge swings resulted in almost no sound at all.
