Title: Times Square Garden (still)
2010 single channel video projection
Description of work:
Technology permits us to extend ourselves beyond individual spatio-temporal limits, such that the swarms of bits and bytes circulating the Internet might be considered as the blood of a collective organism in which we participate. On the other hand, technology offers equal potential for separation, for distancing ourselves, for fantasy, for the control and customization of daily experience. Times Square Garden maps found video footage of Times Square to a collection of found flower images, creating a hybrid and fantastic landscape from unmanipulated photographic materials.
